Careers in Agriculture

The most obvious careers in agriculture are directly related to the farm or ranch. But there are many other careers that comprise the agricultural field. There are approximately 22 million people in the United States who work in agriculture related fields. Unlike agriculture of our grandparents’ day, today’s agriculture offers over 200 rewarding and challenging careers. Below are some sample careers from U.S. Department of Labor, Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2012-13 Edition, Agricultural Workers, on the Internet at http://www.bls.gov/ooh/farming-fishing-and-forestry/home.htm
